So today has been a LONG DAY... Miss K has been SOOOO SICK. She had some good hours today and some not so good.

It started last Friday she acted like she didn't feel well but I thought it was her teeth. Then Saturday she woke & was perfect so we went to Frisco. Then Sunday PaPa & I noticed her lil' eye running so I just watched it. Monday comes around and she had a bit of a runny nose & then by the afternoon she had a DEEP croupy cough (which is a first in this house for her....) I called the Dr. & he prescribed her an antibiotic just in case. Well today she woke & the day started OK then progressively got worse.... So needless to say we stayed home from school & did a lot of resting. Every time she started to play her fever would go up so back to the bed to watch Mickey she went. When she woke from her nap she seemed a little better so we colored for a bit & decided to make cookie dough & cookies. (we found the recipe in a My Little Pony Coloring Book....) When it became time to cook them (the dough had to sit for 3 hours in the fridge) she didn't want any part of it so I made them & let her see the final result.... They turned out kind-of cakey (which I thought they were just OK being I like more gooey cookies)... Kayla just had a lil' bite (NOT A HUGE SWEET EATER) & we gave a batch to the Foster's.

Over all our day consisted of a lot of resting, little play & baking & lots of mommy/Kayla time... The weather has been REAL BAD outside & it is sleeting right now so looks like tomorrow will be another home day. If we come up with any more fun projects to do I will share. So all kinds of interesting stuff has gone on this week. This was Kayla's first FULL week away from her daddy in about 3 or 4 months. The first couple of days were tough because she didn't understand when we pulled into the garage & his car was here why he wasn't. After lots of conversations about California, golf, & work I think she finally got it. (well for now that is)

So on to the FUN STUFF... Kayla has been playing with her friends/neighbors Maris & Teagan a lot. The Foster's are going thru the whole "potty training" process with Miss Maris & Kayla IS VERY INTRIGUED WITH this. To be honest the whole potty training process SCARES THE DAYLIGHTS out of me. So Wednesday when Kayla tells me she wanted to poo-poo in the potty I was SHOCKED! I even was more shocked WHEN SHE DID IT (granted some was already in the diaper.) (I know "too much info" sorry....) Here I am not prepared what so ever so I chalk it up to, "that was a fluke from watching Maris." Then the next couple of days... nothing! SO I am thinking OK it was definitely a fluke. THEN TODAY comes around..... after lunch she tells me, "mommy popo-popo potty" so I take her to the potty & SHE GOES! HOLY MOLY OK maybe I need to start reading up & asking questions. Here I am thinking she is still to young, is this for real, GREAT I am going to have to pursue this. I researched some things while she napped to try & get my ducks in a row. Sure enough after dinner she tells me again she has to go & again SHE ACTUALLY GOES. So basically I got my book (thanks Kel & Shelly for the ideas & book) & I'm about to start reading.... I'm still scared being this opens a whole NEW can of worms. ex: panties, pull-ups, school situations (being the lil' potty's are in a different building), BUT HEY MAYBE NO MORE DIAPERS... again I don't want to get TO AHEAD of myself because I don't want to scare her away from it, but on the other hand I don't want the opportunity to pass me by either. SO I will continue to pray about it & KEEP YOU POSTED!

On a different note... Kayla had a WONDERFUL week at school; she just loves it so much there! I love all the things she tells me when I pick her up... (some not as clear as others) We played a lot at the park before the weather got FREEZING cold.... "Nice 85 Friday then 33 Saturday." One day she got to play with her friend Carter at the park & they had lots of fun. Saturday she got to stay the night with her NaNa & PaPa while mommy went to dinner with some girls (thank you again for the invite Shelly & for the last minute change in plans Dana & Randy) She also got to play with her cousin Madison & Aunt Heather which she LOVED!!!!!

So on to week two... then daddy will be home for a week!!! Good luck to the boys in Phoenix this week & AWESOME PLAYING IN PALM SPRINGS!!! Great momentum into a course that RP & J love!!! Have a blessed & wonderful week to all! If anything exciting happens this week of course I will blog about it!

So we WERE WAY SPOILED HAVING J around for almost 3 months straight. We traveled with him the last 2 tournaments of the year & then of course to Maui, but now that the season has started back up he is on the road again. We TRY to never go more then 2 weeks apart but man when you have been together for so many weeks in a row you forget how you did it before. K & I were in such a little grove before & now we have to GET BACK IN IT...

We had a great weekend with the Edwards; we miss them SOOO MUCH & it was so fun hanging out. WE HAVE TO KEEP IT UP, (minus the 2:30am bed time... ;-) ) I am going to attach a few pictures of the kids playing, Kayla had a BLAST with Miss Aspen & Dane. Then Saturday we hung out as a family all day & J spent a FUN-FILLED night with Miss K before having to fly out first thing Sunday AM.... They had so much fun doing this trick that I will attach these pictures also!

PS: We will continue to keep The Edwards' home team (especially Michelle) in our prayers during this difficult start to the week...... May she get thru Monday & the following days, weeks, months ahead with no relapses. God just continue to follow her in her walk & let her know you are there!

Kayla & HER SLIDE SHE HAD TO RIDE ON A MILLION TIMES A DAY!

So we are back from Maui... I had to share this FUN picture of Kayla going down her favorite slide on our last day in Maui. We took a 6PM flight Monday so we could have the day to play (following the tournament). James & Randy wanted to snorkel one last time so I got suckered into going down to the beach/pool with them to watch Miss K. After they were done we took her over to the pool for one last WATER SLIDE ride... (ok maybe 4 last times...) Every time she would get to the bottom she would be laughing/smiling ear to ear saying, "Mo, Mo, Mo...(that is her more for those who don't know.)

THEN THERE was the plane ride home... OH GEEEZZZZZ SHOOT ME... There were 18 seats open when we looked that morning, so we were all excited. J was going to get a seat & Kayla was too. (we wanted her to especially have a seat since it was a overnight/8 hour flight) We get to the airport & a flight to LA had been delayed 5 hours so they moved all the mis-connects to our flight which meant K was going to have to be a lap child and since J was flying NON-REV he wasn't getting on our flight... I was freaking out. To make a long story short!!!!!! Dana, Randy & I had A LONG FLIGHT HOME. Kayla may have slept a total of 2 hours... (you have to remember she is use to sleeping 12.) Then Dana & I slept ZERO HOURS... we were EXHAUSTED... so needless to say we have spent the last day and a half trying to get Kayla & (me) back on schedule. This being said, that is why I have not added any NEW Maui pics or sent a link to Kodak out yet. As soon as I get them all on the computer I will send them out.

On that note we are very GRATEFUL & BLESSED to have had such a WONDERFUL TIME IN MAUI with everyone.... it was so much fun & we hope to make it a ANNUAL event! (ok Ryan & Jen) ;-) I promise I will send pictures out soon & until then K is off to school tomorrow... "YEA MOMMY AND DADDY are HAVING A DATE DAY!!!!" & then Friday the Edward's are coming to stay with us.... WE are SO EXCITED & CAN NOT WAIT!!!!! Here are some more pics from Maui.... These are all from my phone so they are not the greatest... I will have all kinds of pictures when we get back! We have been HAVING A BLAST... it has been so PRETTY HERE & we have put a lot of hours in at the pool. Dana & Randy went on a fun date night last night to see a concert & then J, Chris, Trey & I are going out tonight while NaNa & PaPa watch Miss K. She really LOVES THE POOL & man she is EXHAUSTED when she gets back. She has been taken LONG NAPS & sleeping great at night being she is SO TIRED! We are about to have to leave paradise & back into the cold. We are off to the course to watch some golf while NaNa, PaPa & K enjoy the pool. Poor J has been missing out, but he will enjoy some time with Miss Kayla & the gang today since they play early! Until then hope everyone is well & we will see YOU SOON!!!! xoxoxo

SOOOOO yesterday was our first WHOLE day in Maui, yes it was a long day but it was FUN.... We finally got K semi adjusted so she SLEPT MUCH BETTER LAST NIGHT. She was begging us to go to bed at 7 so we put her down.... We took her to the beach yesterday and she had SOOO MUCH FUN! SHE LOVED PLAYING WITH HER SHOVEL & BUCKET. She still isn't crazy about sand being on her so that is pretty funny. She says "UH-OH" every time it is somewhere she doesn't want it. We cooked out at the house last night & then this morning we woke EARLY AGAIN and Dana, K & I went shopping in town while the boys went to the course. We are going to a Luau tonight so I am sure we will have a lot of fun pictures and maybe even some video to post tomorrow. Until then hope everyone is doing great back home & Aloha!!!!

MAUI

MISS K's first morning in HAWAII.... its 5am (hawaii time....) she is SO TIRED

SOOOOO WE ARE HERE IN MAUI after our 8 1/2 hour flight.... (remember this doesn't include checking in, security, boarding, D-ICING & everyday DFW delays....) Miss Kayla ended up not having a seat because the flight was full so YES SHE WAS A FREAKING LAP CHILD THE WHOLE TIME.... First and foremost, YES WE ARE blessed to be able to be going to Maui in the first place but this was a bummer of a start for us. SECOND, THANK GOD FOR DANA/NANA what a life savor she was sticking it out with me... (James had an hour of the duties... well maybe a hour since he is half way thru his book at this time...). He did get the bags down every time so THANK YOU FOR THAT! We ended up having to make a palate on the floor (let me add I AM SO AGAINST THIS being I am a Flight Attendant) but desperate times call for desperate measures. Kayla watched a lot of Mickey, & only slept about 45min. ADDITIONALLY WE HAD AWESOME FLIGHT ATTENDANTS on our side of the plane; they were two guys and the hooked us up the whole flight!!! OVER ALL WHAT A GREAT LITTLE GIRL SHE WAS. No melt downs what so ever & she is use to traveling only in her car seat so this was a good thing. SO THANK YOU GOD FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP IN OUR SAFE & SUCCESSFUL TRAVELS.

After the 7 of us got our luggage/cars.... off to the house we went. We WERE ALL STARVING so we ordered pizza and Miss Kayla got to bed about 7pm Hawaii time (11 CST).... YIKES being she is 8 to 8 religiously. So we were hoping she would sleep til about 7.... NOT SO MUCH 4am SHE IS UP AND READY TO GO. All morning we have been trying to keep her busy so we can get her back on some kind of schedule. Thank you to PaPa, NaNa, Trey & Chris for all of your help with our little princess.....

Overall all is GREAT.... the house is beautiful & the weather PERFECT!!! Daddy & Kayla already took a dip in the ocean & off to the golf course they went! Until I blog again everyone have a blessed day & we will attach pictures soon!!!

So I know I haven't written in forever... IVE ACTUALLY BEEN WORKING FOR ONCE so I have been pretty busy.... (I know big shock right!) Well we had a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS & New Years! We did Christmas Eve at Dana & Randy's (which is always a GREAT time...) & Christmas Day here at our house. Kayla actually understood a little more this year so it was really a lot of FUN!!!!! I'm just writing to post a few pictures because we have an 8 HOUR flight tomorrow to Maui so I need to finish getting packed up. On that note I will blog while I am there & add pictures.
